Breathedge 2 Early Access Unlocks on Steam Today (2026)
Breathedge 2 Early Access is live on Steam today (31 Aug 2026) at $15.99 (was $19.99, -20% launch). Sequel from RedRuins Softworks and HypeTrain Digital. No review score yet.
Breathedge 2 is live in Steam Early Access as of 31 August 2026. It is the direct sequel to Breathedge, the chicken-and-duct-tape space survival game from RedRuins Softworks. HypeTrain Digital publishes this one.

Steam has a handful of early user reviews (5 across all languages, 3 English, all positive so far) but no aggregate percentage label yet. We are not scoring today.
The studio is shipping a work in progress on purpose, same shape as the first game. Steam's Early Access FAQ and about text, not a session we have played:
First major story chapter, plus a large area to explore
Core loop: scavenge, craft, upgrade the suit, keep oxygen and temperature in check, fight when you have to
Story not finished. Parts of the world stay locked. Systems will keep moving
RedRuins currently expects about 16 to 20 months in Early Access. Planned later chapters include more story and areas, planetary surface play, small vehicles, a personal spacecraft, warp jumps, and building. That is a roadmap, not a patch we have verified in-game.
The studio also says the lowest price should be at the start of Early Access, with increases as major updates land. Launch price today is $15.99 / 15,99€ after the -20% discount from $19.99 / 19,99€.
The sequel pitch
You are still the ordinary Man, with an AI living in the suit and an immortal Chicken in the plot. The Breathedge Corporation has kicked off a galaxy-wide war and an army of Coffinbots. The heroes trip over the takeover, become target number one, then get shot at by their own side. Duct tape remains the local religion.
Steam is explicit that you do not need the first game. Veterans and newcomers are promised equal confusion.
The original Breathedge entered Early Access on 13 September 2018 and shipped 1.0 on 25 February 2021. Same developer. HypeTrain Digital is on both pages (the first game also lists RedRuins as a publisher). Steam's English reviews on that page currently sit Mostly Positive (72% of 5,385). That is context for the series, not a score for this sequel.

When we review
We are not scoring Breathedge 2 today. We have not played it yet, and Steam has only a few early user reviews with no percentage label. We do not invent a 7.x or a Steam % from that.
When we have played it we will run a full English review and park it on the hub. Until then this is launch news plus Steam status.
