Duskfade is Weird Beluga’s love letter to classic 3D action-platformers — jump, dash, grapple, glide, and slash with Zirian and mechanical Cuckoo to free a sister from a Clock Tower that drowned the world in night. Multiplatform (PC/PS5/Xbox/Switch 2), Steam Deck Verified. Best for Jak/Spyro nostalgia with modern combat; skip if you want pure open-world sandbox.

Jump, grapple, and slash through eternal night with Zirian and Cuckoo. Very Positive Steam launch. Score 8.0 — buy for PS2-era platforming vibes with modern combat.
Duskfade knows exactly what it is borrowing from: the readable 3D platformer era where movement is the star and every biome has a personality. Weird Beluga and Fireshine Games send Zirian and his mechanical Cuckoo after a sister trapped by a Clock Tower that locked the world in dusk. Early Steam is Very Positive, which fits a game that leads with traversal joy rather than checklist bloat.
Combat and platforming share the same verbs — dash, grapple, grind, glide — so fights feel like an extension of movement. Stages hide secrets off the critical path; biomes swing from ethereal forest to underwater to desert to sky. The story is a coming-of-age frame with emotional boss metaphors, not an excuse for empty corridors.
Buy Duskfade if you miss confident 3D action-platformers and want a complete, multiplatform package. Wait if you need deep RPG systems under the platforming. At 8.0 it is a strong nostalgia play that still feels current.
The best stretches are when a new movement verb opens a vertical route you could not see from the ground. That is the PS2 magic, updated.
