Jurassic World Evolution 3: Wetlands Review – Swampy Dinosaurs & Scenic DLC
A cozy, well-made DLC that adds three wetland-loving dinos and a ton of themed scenery to JWE3. Great for builders who love atmosphere—just don’t expect a gameplay revolution.
Wetlands adds a splash of bayou charm to Jurassic World Evolution 3 with three fresh species and dozens of swampy props. If you’re into themed enclosures and detail-heavy park building, this pack is an easy sell—just don’t expect new mechanics to rewrite the rulebook.

The core of the Wetlands Pack is simple and satisfying: three new species (Irritator, Austroraptor, Hypsilophodon), each with distinctive behaviors—semi-aquatic hunting, fish-focused feeding and speedy herd dynamics. The pack shines in content for builders: hundreds of scenery items, thirteen blueprints (boathouses, pontoons, shacks, lanterns) and wetland-themed props like rusted barbecues and bug zappers to craft misty, atmospheric enclosures. I loved giving the Irritator a wooden jetty and watching guests crowd the boardwalk; the Austroraptor’s fish-feeder antics are oddly charming. Technical notes: visuals and soundscapes add immersion, but there’s no major overhaul to management systems or AI—expect the same pathfinding quirks and occasional animations you’ve seen in the base game. Overall it’s a cosmetic and creature-focused DLC that expands creative options rather than changing core strategy.

Wetlands is a lovingly made aesthetic and creature DLC that expands your builder toolkit. Not essential, but highly enjoyable if you live for themed enclosures and atmosphere.

Pros
- Three distinct, well-realized dinosaurs that fit the wetland theme.
- Loads of scenery items and blueprints for atmospheric park building.
- Nice attention to audio/visual details—great for immersion and screenshots.
Cons
- No major gameplay systems or management features added.
- Some AI/pathfinding quirks and occasional animation hiccups persist.
Player Opinion
Players praise the new creatures and the amount of scenery—many say it’s perfect for creative builders. Criticism mostly targets replay value versus price and the lack of mechanical depth. If you enjoyed Planet Zoo’s DLCs or previous JWE packs, Wetlands will feel familiar and satisfying.
