Dreamcards is a hand-drawn roguelike deckbuilder about dreams: gather relationship cards by day, fight the nightmare by night across six mixable strategies, and chase lucid-dream scores for seven nights without slipping. Built over four years by Brazil’s Soneka Games. Best for deckbuilder fans who want esoteric mood and combo absurdity; skip if you want a conventional Slay-the-Spire clone with no dream framing.

Hand-drawn roguelike deckbuilder from Soneka Games — day relationships, night nightmares, six strategies, Very Positive early Steam. Score: 7.8/10.
Dreamcards sells an odd promise: your daytime relationships become the cards you play against a recurring nightmare. Soneka Games spent four years hand-drawing that loop into an esoteric roguelike deckbuilder — action and buy phases, imagination points into conscience points, seven nights to outscore the monster without a single failure. Early Steam is Very Positive on a small sample, which matches a game that feels authored rather than template-farmed.
Over 100 cards across six mixable strategies. Deckbuilding happens before and during matches; shops and deck manipulation sit inside the night fight, not only on a map. The day/night split gives the run a narrative rhythm most deckbuilders skip. Fail one night and the nightmare wins — tension that rewards consistent builds over greedy spikes.
Buy Dreamcards if you want a mood-forward deckbuilder with combo room and a clear identity. Wait if you need a huge review sample or a purely mechanical Spire-alike. At 7.8 it is a distinctive small-team deckbuilder worth a run.
The best moments are when a daytime relationship card becomes a ridiculous night combo. The risk is the early sample size — watch Steam as the audience grows.
