A week after launch, Probably Stolen - Cyberpunk Shopkeeper Sim is still gaining players. On November 4 the shopkeeping sim reached a daily peak of 174,382 concurrent players and ranked 13th on Steam's most played chart, up 47 places from a week earlier. On the morning of November 5 it stood ninth by current players with about 93,700 people in the game, and it is No. 8 in the German store's top sellers.

The game from Questing Goose Studio, which 80.lv describes as Montreal-based, launched on October 28 with tinyBuild as publisher. SteamDB lists an all-time peak of 164,471 players on November 3, after Notebookcheck, also citing SteamDB, had reported more than 152,000 on November 1. Steam user reviews stand at 97 percent positive from 10,564 reviews, rated Overwhelmingly Positive.

The launch figures come from the developer. Its October 29 post reports more than 350,000 copies sold, over 320,000 unique players and more than 112,000 concurrent players in the first 24 hours; on October 30 it announced half a million units sold. According to 80.lv, tinyBuild CEO Alex Nichiporchik wrote that "200k copies in the first few hours is nuts", and the publisher counted more than 500,000 wishlists before launch.

What the patches change

The developer says it is "patching updates and hotfixes everyday" based on player reports. Hotfix 1.0.0.5 from October 30 adds a rebindable hotkey for the counter bell, makes the frame rate cap follow the monitor's refresh rate instead of a fixed 60, adds borderless fullscreen for monitors that are not 16:9 and keeps the Merchant visiting every Sunday after you buy the store. Update 1.0.0.6 on October 31 reworks the security of the modding system; the developer warns that some mods may break until their authors update them. A further patch note on the Steam community hub lists a fix for stuttering and screen tearing on high refresh rate monitors and in fullscreen.

The success has a back story. PC Games Hardware reports that Questing Goose released it in February 2025 under the name Deepspace Emporium. PCGamesN writes that it used to be a different game with simpler visuals and credits a complete rebrand; Nichiporchik told the site tinyBuild "loved the concept and gameplay so much" that it worked with the studio on a new look. The new demo peaked at 39,811 players on October 22 according to SteamDB, and PC Games called it by far the most played demo on Steam at that point.

Notebookcheck sums up the Steam reviews: many players describe a "just one more day" effect, while some say the gameplay becomes repetitive over time and criticize the user interface and occasional minor technical issues.

On a dystopian space station, you craft, trade and smuggle goods of questionable origin, juggle faction loyalties and try to buy out your shop before rising rent forces your hand. It shares the Shop Keeper and Management tags with Shipping Store Simulator 2037, trading and management with Pawn Planet: First Sales, and a cyberpunk trading setting with Ostranauts.

The game currently costs $17.99 instead of $19.99; PCGamesN says the 10 percent launch discount runs through Wednesday, November 11. Players who use mods should check for updated versions since the October 31 security change.
