Phantom Blade Zero has sold more than four million units in its first 72 hours, developer S-GAME announced, as Gematsu reports. The Wuxia action RPG launched on October 28, 2026, and it is still near the top of Steam's charts: on November 3 it ranked fourth among the most played games with a daily peak of 790,954 concurrent players.

The numbers on Steam

The all-time peak so far came two days earlier. According to SteamDB, the game reached 833,921 concurrent players on November 1, 2026. Kotaku had reported more than 700,000 players at once in less than 24 hours after release, and PCGamesN says the game has been "maintaining 400k players even at quiet times of the day".

On November 4 at 05:41 UTC, Steam counted 287,923 people playing, third by current players. In the US Steam store the game sits at number six of the top sellers.

GameSpot notes that the four million copies cover PC and PS5; the game is not available on Xbox. GameSpot also reports that most preorders came from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Analyst Elliott, cited by GamesRadar+, says 62.5% of copies sold so far were in those three regions, accounting for 75.9% of Steam sales, and that the game "won't hit the highs" of Black Myth: Wukong's sales. In a social media post quoted by GameSpot, the studio thanked players "from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support".

Reception

Of 109,009 Steam user reviews, 92% are positive, which Steam rates as Very Positive. Push Square points out that S-GAME's own post highlights user scores of 9.3 on Metacritic and 4.71 on the PS Store, while critics average 87 on PS5. Kotaku describes the game as a "not-quite-Soulslike action-RPG".

The store page sets up the premise: you play Soul, a warrior with sixty-six days left to live, fending off assassins and unravelling conspiracies in a Wuxia story built on Unreal Engine 5. Its player tags put it close to Black Myth: Wukong as a dark fantasy hack-and-slash action RPG, to Sifu through martial arts, and to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - GOTY Edition through its Souls-like tag.

For anyone deciding now: Phantom Blade Zero costs $59.99 on Steam, with no discount running. It is out on PC and PS5, not on Xbox. The Steam reviews from more than 100,000 players are overwhelmingly positive, and close to 288,000 people were still playing on Steam early on November 4.
