Cities: Skylines delays PC creator packs, Switch 2 edition out October 28

Paradox has postponed the Estates & Escapes packs for PC over a base game patch, while the Switch 2 Expanded Edition launched on October 28.

Paradox has pushed back the next PC content for Cities: Skylines. The Estates & Escapes packs were scheduled for October 28 and now have no release date. On that same day, the Nintendo Switch 2 version, Cities: Skylines - Expanded Edition, came out, according to Nintendo Life. On Steam, the 2015 city builder is meanwhile collecting reviews much faster than in the days before.

What is delayed on PC

In a Steam post dated October 7, Paradox announced the Estates & Escapes Bundle with the content creator packs Holiday Getaways and Mansions & Manors for October 28. Gematsu reports that a radio station was planned alongside them for PC, PlayStation and Xbox, a "16-track blend of lo-fi hip-hop, jazzy chillhop, and down-tempo tracks".

In a later notice on Steam, Paradox wrote that it "encountered some technical issues with the upcoming base game patch" and would address them before the release. The publisher says it is "looking for a new Release Date" for the two packs and the radio station, but has not named one. For PC players, the notice also means a new base game patch is on its way, again without a date.

The Switch 2 edition

Nintendo Life lists the Expanded Edition as first released on October 28, 2026, developed by Tantalus Media and published by Paradox Interactive. According to GameSpot, it costs $49, includes 10 expansions, expands the buildable area to 25 tiles, supports keyboard and mouse and adds a map editor. Players can pick a 30fps mode focused on visual quality or a performance mode targeting 60fps.

Gematsu and Nintendo Life both report a 70 percent discount for players who already own the game on the original Switch. Nintendo Life reminds readers that the game "launched in pretty rough shape on Switch" in 2018. GameSpot used the announcement to point out that console ports of the sequel are still missing.

On Steam, the original received 1,086 new reviews over 42 hours, about 621 a day, a pace far above the days before. Of these new reviews, 72 percent are positive, while the game's overall rating stands at 92 percent of 291,960 reviews, "Very Positive". The sources do not say what the new reviews are about.

The PC version did get substantial content earlier this year. GamesRadar+ called Race Day the first full expansion pack for the original game in nearly three years; it lets a city host cycling, motorsports and foot races. PC Gamer reported a free update alongside it that added illuminated billboards, fences along roads and a new employment visualiser.

For PC players, the base game costs $29.99 on Steam, with no discount at the moment. Anyone waiting for Holiday Getaways or Mansions & Manors will have to wait for the new base game patch and a new date from Paradox. Switch 2 owners can play the Expanded Edition now, with the discount for owners of the first Switch version.
